Wilko brothers shatter E.T. and MPH records
The Wilko brothers, Hank and Bob have always had one of the fastest and wildest cars in NETO. The brothers have been racing supercharged entries since the sixties. In NETO, we remember the wild blown Monza which was unfortunately wrecked several years ago at Lebanon valley. This didn’t deter the Wilkos. They purchased a 1963 Corvette roller and worked on putting their blown hemi in it. Even though it was difficult to make a full pass, Bob Wilko did manage to produce the fastest door car speed of 197 mph. But if there is one word to describe the Wilkos it is perservance. On June 10, 2017 at Cecil County Dragway, in his first time trial, Bob Wilko shattered the E.T. and MPH records held by Charlie Benson in his blown dragster. Bob turned a 7.07, 211 mph run. As amazing as that was, the brothers saved the best for the first round of eliminations. In the first round, Bob put down a ground pounding, blistering run of 6.81, 213.13 mph. Unfortunately, he lost the race because he only dialed a 7.10 index.
Congratulations to the quickest, fastest and nicest guys, the Wilko brothers, Hank and Bob.
