20th anniversary season starts with race 2 at Lebanon Valley
Race 1, scheduled for May 12 at Lebanon Valley dragway, was rained out. Race 2 on May 13 served as the kickoff to the 20th anniversary season. The race was sponsored by 2 founding members of NETO, Paul Galvin and Guy Johnson. In addition to the usual trophies, special commemorative plaques were sponsored by Psyched Clone Racing
Twenty five racers competed in the race. Winner and runner up trophies were presented by Paul Galvin and Guy Johnson. The commemorative plaques were presented by Kitty and John Giambertone of Psyched Clone racing.
Prior to the race a special celebration of 20 years of racing was held. A 20th anniversary cake, as well as a variety of snacks and food were provided by the members.
The original NETO flag was flown.
A ceremony honoring original members Paul Galvin and Guy Johnson was held where Paul and Guy were presented with NETO hats and specially embroidered NETO shirts.
Paul Galvin said a few words recounting the history of NETO and thanking all former and current members for giving us 20 great years of racing and more importantly, friendships.
COMP ELIMINATOR
2018 began where 2017 left off as reigning champ Lou Laferrara Jr went through four rounds in winning the first race of the season. Chris Kraft was runner up in his stout 55 lenco shifted Chevy. Lou ran a 7.53 on a 7.50 index for the win. Chris ran a breakout 8.48 on a 8.50 index for runner up.

NOSTALGIA ELIMINATOR
The 2018 season for Nostalgia eliminator also started off the way 2017 ended. Reigning Nostalgia champion Steve Consentino returned to the winners circle over runner up Frank Paradiso. Steve ran a 10.48 on a 10.45 dial in his 1962 Dodge Wagon “Yankee Clipper” for the win. Frank ran a 11.05 on a 11.00 dial in his 427 C.I. BBC 1968 Chevelle for runner up.
