NETO race 8 completed Aug.5 at Island Dragway
NETO race 8, the NETO Summernationals and the Vic English memorial race, was completed Saturday August 5 at Island Dragway in Great Meadows NJ. The race was sponsored by New England Performance and Muscle from Norwalk Connecticut. Brian English and Brian Jr presented the trophies. Thirty six racers competed in the race. The winners of this race would also compete in the fourth annual King of the Hill, with a NHRA Wally as the prize.
COMP ELIMINATOR
Brian English won Comp in his 1969 BBC Camaro. Brian ran a 8.74 on a 8.60 index for the win. Here is Brian, Brian Jr, wife Carmela and his crew with the trophy.
Chris Kraft was runner up in his lenco shifted BBC 55 Chevy. Chris got loose on the run and ran slowing 13.28 on a 8.60 index. Here is Chris, son John and crew with the trophy.
NOSTALGIA ELIMINATOR
Steve Consentino won Nostalgia Eliminator wheeling his 1962 Dodge wagon, the “Yankee Clipper” through 5 rounds of competition. Steve ran a 10.62 on a 10.57 dial for the win. Here is Steve with an unknown homeless person reciving the trophy.
Mike Kwiatek took runner up in his 1969 Dodge Super Bee powered by a 512 C.I. Mopar motor. Mike turned a 10.33 on a 10.28 dial. Here is Mike receiving the trophy.
