NETO race 7 completed July 9 at Beaver Springs
NETO race 7 was completed Sunday July 9 at Beaver Springs Dragway in Beaver Springs PA. On a beautiful partly cloudy day, twenty two racers competed in the race, which was the 14th annual York Nostalgia Nationals. race was sponsored by Putnam Radiator from Mahopac NY. Jerry DesLandes presented the trophies.
COMP ELIMINATOR
Richie Bianco Jr, in his rookie season, won his first NETO race in the Team Bianco SBF Ford powered S & W FED. Richie combined great reaction times all day with a 8.19 on a 8.10 index in the final for the win. Here is a smiling Richie with dad Richie Sr receiving the trophy.
Mike Petrole drove his BBC powered 1967 Camaro for runner up. Mike ran a breakout 8.97 on a 9.00 index. here is Mike with friend Kenny and grandson Sal receiving the trophy.
NOSTALGIA ELIMINATOR
Ed Hedrick capped a great weekend by winning Nostalgia Eliminator for the second day in a row. Ed turned a 10.14 on a 10.08 dial to get the win. Here are Ed and friend Randy receiving the trophy.
Runner up was Joe Puma in his 455 inch 1961 Pontiac. Joe lost with a 10.32 on a 10.32 dial. Here is Joe receiving the trophy.
Notable in Nostalgia were the perfect lights by Steve Consentino and Guy Johnson in round one. When does a perfect light NOT guarantee lane choice in the next round? When both racer had perfect lights! Thats what happened to Steve and Guy as the had to flip a coin for lane choice. Nice going Steve and Guy!
