Seventeenth Annual Awards Banquet held
The NETO annual awards banquet was held for the seventeenth consecutive year on Saturday November 12 in Newburgh New York. Prior to the banquet the year end meeting was held. At this meeting officers and directors for 2017 were elected. All of the incumbents were re-elected without opposition.
Then the fun began.
NETO president Tony Feil served as Master of Ceremonies. Before the trophies were awarded to the top 10 racers in Nostalgia and Comp, members gave recognition to some other members.
Nicole Laferrara presented Tom and Erin Dewhirst with framed photos she had taken.
John and Kitty Giambertone presented the Wilco brothers with a replica of the timeslip for their 203 mph run at Numidia.
Team Patterson presented Steve Huebner with a home made lamp representing his ingenuity in fixing problems at the track

John Giambertone then presented the “Perfect Reaction Awards” for racers having a .000 reaction time during eliminations.
Paula Nappi and Roger Wright were recipients, Mike Kwiatek also earned this award.
Trophies were then awarded to the top 10 finishers in Nostalgia and comp.

Guy Johnson won 7th place in Nostalgia, sponsored by Carland Auto body
Steve Consentino won 6th place in Nostalgia, sponsored by Sew and Show
Team Patterson won 5th place in Nostalgia, sponsored by T & E racing
Rich Mauceri won 4th place in Nostalgia, sponsored by Fidelity Alarm Co.
Team Farquhar won 3rd place in Nostalgia, sponsored by T & E racing
Roger Wright won 2nd place in Nostalgia, sponsored by Accurate Auto repair
And your 2016 NETO Nostalgia champion Jody Kenly, sponsored by Steve and Dorothy Consentino
The Comp trophies were then presented.
Tony Supino won 8th place in Comp, sponsored by Sew and Show. Jerry Deslandes won 6th place in Comp, sponsored by Accurate Auto Repair
Chris Kraft won 5th place in Comp, sponsored by Caroline Galvin. Brian English won 4th place in Comp, sponsored by Fidelity Alarm Co.
Brian Vradenburg won 3rd place in Comp, sponsored by Gene’s Wild Rides. Mark Finkle won 2nd place in Comp, sponsored by John and Kitty Giambertone.
