Annual awards banquet held for 2017
NETO held it’s annual award banquet on Saturday November 11, 2017 in Newburgh NY. Prior to the banquet, the annual year end member meeting was held. At this meeting officers and directors for 2018 were elected. All of the incumbents were re-elected without opposition. Once again a fun time was had by all as over 100 people attended the event.
These two luscious cakes were donated by Kitty and John Giambertone.
Prior to presenting awards to the top ten finishers in Nostalgia and Comp, some special member to member recognition was given.
John Giambertone presented Craig Norton with the “Wheels Up Award” in recognition for the wild ride Craig took at Island Dragway which unfortunately ended with his “Wheels Up”.
John Giambertone presented Bob and Hank Wilko with a performance award for the years of perseverance culminating in a 6.812 second, 213.13 mph pass at Cecil County.
Competition Director Al Banome presented Christian Huebner with a set of special “Inspection Glasses” for his exceptional work in inspecting cars prior to competition.
Then John Giambertone presented plaques to all racers who recorded a perfect reaction time of .000 during eliminations. They are:
