Brian English takes second consecutive King of the Hill race
For the fourth consecutive year NETO hosted a King of the Hill race at Island dragway, with a NHRA Wally as the prize.
The winners of August 5th race would square off. Steve Consentino in his 1962 Dodge Wagon was the Nostalgia winner. Brian English in his 1969 Camaro was the Comp winner.
This year the race was run with the Comp .400 Pro tree. Late saturday night they lined up for the race, Steve dialed a 10.55 and Brian dialed a 8.60. Unfortunately the tree was set to full .500 tree by mistake. The race needed to be re run and there was no time to do it Saturday night. So the race was re run on Sunday.
When the lights came down, Steve was off like a shot with Brian in hot pursuit. In a close race, Brian was victorious for the second year in a row. Steve, who was the first NETO Wally winner was a close second.
